Leg 1
Wake Up Call
A 12.5 mile beach run. Starting on the inside of Coutou, run towards the morning sun, round Great Point Light House, arriving at check point #1 No Man’s Land. This leg is long but is one of the fastest. Cool morning air, hard pack sand and adrenaline gets this leg off to a fast start.

Leg 2
No Man’s Land
A 12 mile beach run. From an area known as The Galls, runners will travel down the eastern coast of the island; some say the most scenic coastline in New England, until they reach Sconset Public Beach.

Leg 3
The Tern
A 7 mile beach run. Leaving Sconset, runners quickly round the corner to the south side of the island via Tom Nevers and Nobadeer until they reach Surfside Beach. The most popular beach on the island.

Leg 4
Sunny Side
An 8 mile beach run. From Surfside, runners enjoy crowds as they travel to Cisco Beach en-route to Madaket. Then around Smith’s Point onto the inside of Madaket Harbor. Continue running along the inside until you reach check point # 4.  (Beach erosion has shotened this leg)

Leg 5
The Home Stretch
First, a 2 mile road run followed by an 8 mile beach run. From check point 4, runners will traverse a series of dirt roads, crossing over the Madaket Bridge, down Madaket road, through Hither Creek and then back on the beach. Run the inside of “the bowl” then around the tip of Eel Point and home to the finish line via Dionis Beach.
